Why is Sovereign Lodge so great?

Teamwork

There is no I in team. And we have worked hard to develop a strong staff team at Sovereign Lodge. All of whom strive for enriching the lives of our residents, prioritising them as their main focus.

It’s all about you

We ensure each resident in our home is happy, content, stimulated, feeling safe, loved, and treated as an individual. We value our residents being heard and respected – with each having a say in their own care needs.

Interior

We have a beautiful home, inside and out, including various lounges with a variety of entertainment. Our Silver Saloon bar for instance plays host to regular get togethers for drinks – we love a pub afternoon where we have a cocktail, mocktails, beer, wine or shandy and play cards or dominoes. Or sometimes we simply enjoy sharing a drink and a chat with a friend or fellow resident. We also have a quiz or a game of bingo from time to time.

Our forget-me-not dementia café is just the best place to relax, unwind and enjoy high tea. Who doesn’t love a fancy sandwich and cream cake!

Outside

We have just completed the development of a dementia garden which residents can admire from our forget-me-not dementia café. Or, via just a short internal walk from the café residents can easily and securely be outside enjoying the beautiful garden. The garden features a fabulous water feature, a plethora of gorgeous plants that residents can touch and smell, and cosy seating areas to enjoy with loved ones and friends.

We also have a garden at the front of Sovereign Lodge with a patio and seating area. We love nothing better than getting the parasols out, putting music on and having ice creams in the sunshine. We do enjoy our garden parties too – weather permitting of course!

Dining

Our interior dining areas are well presented, comfortable and offer everything that is needed to enjoy a delicious dining experience.

We also offer a ‘spare chair day’ to those who are home alone who would like to join in a warm friendly atmosphere, enjoy a lovely hot meal and chat and stay to enjoy the days’ activities.

Pampering

We have a hair salon where a hairdresser from the local community visits on a Tuesday and Friday. We also have a Nail Bar where residents can have their nails painted or even a hand massage. We love a good pamper day!

Local community

We always encourage our local community to get involved at Sovereign Lodge – and a favourite activity of both the residents and the community is our toddler group every Thursday morning named ‘Little Lodgers’. The benefits of a playgroup for younger and older generations centres around both parties developing the same cognitive processes. They can share different perspectives in life and unique experiences. It’s a stimulating type of play that allows everyone to exercise their brain with different types of thinking and playful engagement.

Activities

In summary

These are just some of the things that are great about Sovereign Lodge. We are a friendly, happy home – come and visit, join in, have a cup of tea. There is always a warm welcome!
