Kingston Court

Daily Life

At Kingston Court, our service users shape the daily life of our home, creating a relaxed family atmosphere filled with numerous activities. We actively engage with the community, participating in events like visiting the weeping window at the castle. Through intergenerational programs, our service users have become pen pals with children from the local youth zone, joining them for events like a fifties night. Themed days such as Burns Night, St. Patrick’s Day, St. David’s Day, and St. George’s Day feature entertainment and menus celebrate national celebrations – with something to suit everyone. Our activities range from flower arranging, music exercises, pantomimes, and bingo to gardening, knitting, cooking, and pampering sessions – all based on the preferences of our service users.

Dining

Food is cooked fresh on the premises and the menus are dictated by our Service Users who discuss regularly the menu options at their involvement meetings. These are fed back to our Chef Kristoff who accomodates the service users wishes and adapts the menus to suit. The dining rooms are spacious, warm and inviting and give our service users another opportunity for get together mealtime chats. Kingston Court take nutrition very seriously, offer a wide varied, colourful and tasty diet but one that is tasty and nutritionally sound.

" My mother was admitted from hospital having been a resident at another home. We were offered permanent residency which we were pleased to accept. Mum's care was exceptional from the beginning. The nursing staff and carers were professional and kind and gave us all unstinting support. Mum was at Kingston Court for 10 months and although very tired and weak towards the end nothing was ever too much trouble. From first visit to last her care was excellent. "

L P (Daughter of Resident)

" My sister has been resident in Kingston Court for six months during which time her health has improved beyond all expectation. The staff have been very supportive, friendly and efficient providing not only health care but equally important social and welfare support that has contributed so much to my sister's progress. The lady who is leaving Kingston Court is able to do so thanks to them. "

James R (Brother of Resident)

" Each member of the staff cares about each resident. All rooms (and attached toilets and basins) are so tidy. Food and service are very good too. The costs of each resident are reasonable. This care provider, in my opinion, is the best in the area, between the border with Scotland and Penrith and the west of the county down to Whitehaven. Being so close to the hospital is an added asset. "
