September 2022: Refurb Celebrations at Riverwell Beck

07/10/2022

Riverwell Beck Newsletter: September Edition

Held in the homes’ beautiful garden with the Cumbrian sunshine thankfully on our side, it was the perfect way to celebrate the completion of our extensive refurbishment; and thank all that were involved for their patience, co-operation and positivity throughout.

We were also delighted to welcome players from the Carlisle Ladies football team and are incredibly thankful to them for being our guests of honour and completing the honorary ribbon cutting – we hope Riverwell Beck continues to be as successful and pioneering as they are in women’s sport.

Along with the relaunch party, this month our residents have enjoyed lots of other fun activities and celebrations – keep reading to see what we have been up to.

What a busy month!

We have had an exciting month with so many events, including our Launch Party. Residents have enjoyed baking, meditation sessions, sing-alongs, learning different languages, craft sessions, gardening and movies in our new Cinema Room!

We would like to thank all the staff for their hard work and dedication to making each day the best it can be for our residents, and an extra thank you to our newly appointed Lifestyle Support Assistant, Wendy Armstrong, who has brought so much joy and positive energy.

Birthdays & Special Mentions

We are delighted to announce the birthday’s of Christine Duval, Geoff Lowe, Rita Wallace and Bob Whyte who all celebrated with flowers and birthday cake from all the their friends here at Riverwell Beck.

We would also like to say a warm welcome to our new residents, Stan, Helen, Christopher, Patricia Dewar and Olwen – we’re delighted to have you join the Riverwell Beck family and hope you’ll be very happy living with us.

Finally, we would like to congratulate our Care Assistant, Nicola Darboe, who has recently married and our lovely Angela Blake who is due to marry very shortly! We wish you a lifetime of happiness.

A tribute to HRH Queen Elizabeth II

We sadly said farewell to HRH Queen Elizabeth II this month, who passed away on the 8th September after a 70-year reign. Riverwell beck staff and residents paid tribute to our late monarch with a memorial plaque in the garden. Our thoughts go out to the royal family at this time.
