Old Prebendal Hosts WAGS Fundraising Event for Alzheimer’s Research UK

05/07/2024

On Saturday 29th June, the Old Prebendal Estate in Chipping Norton was proud to host the Wychwood Alzehimer’s Group (WAGs) for an Afternoon Tea Party in aid of Alzheimer’s Research UK.

Held in the beautifully landscaped gardens of the estate, the event was graced with beautiful sunshine all day; creating the perfect setting for an afternoon filled with happy conversation, delicious food and even a refreshing glass of fizz.

The WAGs is a locally-run charitable group, dedicated to raising awareness of Alzheimer’s in the local area by bringing people together. It was a delightful afternoon for everyone involved, with many first-time visitors to the Old Prebendal taking time to admire the beautiful surroundings and interact with our staff and residents. It was clear throughout the day that new friendships also blossomed amongst the greenery as a result of the highly successful fundraising event.

Feedback received from Wychwood Alzheimer’s Group : “We were blessed with beautiful weather and gorgeous surroundings and not only did we raise a bob or two but we also raised awareness of Alzheimer’s Research Uk and dementia in general. Your cream tea and bubbles went down a treat and we have had lovely feed back already from those who came.”

We are proud to share that, thanks to the generosity of guests, the Wychwood Alzheimer’s Group raised over £500 during the event. A donation which will greatly support Alzheimer’s Research UK to continue their vital research and awareness efforts.

We are incredibly proud to have been asked to support the Wychwood Alzheimer’s Group to organise such a wonderful event, and our sincere gratitude goes out to all who took part and contributed to make it such a great success.
