BRrrrr! It’s beginning to feel a lot like…winter! I think we can all agree that the wintery weather is finally here; the air is colder, frost is glistening and it’s starting to feel Christmassy. We have been very busy throughout November here at Derwent, with lots of events and activities for our residents to take part in; including showing our respects on Remembrance Day and cheering on the England boys for the start of the World Cup.
We are also collecting for our Christmas raffle, every year we go bigger and better than the year before and this year will be no different- so please keep your eyes peeled for raffle tickets!
Finally, we are delighted to share our “Make a Wish” scheme; where we will be asking residents what their one wish is and working hard to make them come true! So far, we have already granted four wishes and we aren’t stopping there! Follow our Facebook page @MariposaCareHomes to see daily updates and what other wonderful activities we get up to.

We’ve celebrated lots of birthdays this month, and wish everyone many happy returns! Our wonderful Maureen celebrated her 83rd birthday on November 6th with her family. Joseph turned 85 on November 13th and loved all this cards and gifts from family & friends. Finally we wished Happy 89th birthday to Joyce, who turned 89 on November 20th, and loved her birthday cake!
We have been packed with activities throughout November, including Cheering the England Boys on and Remembrance Day! Here is a sneak peek at what we have coming up in December.
