November 2022: Painting Poppies at Holly Lodge

28/11/2022

Holly Lodge Newsletter: November Edition

Welcome to the Holly Lodge November newsletter! This month we joined the nation to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Armistice Day by painting poppies to display around the home, in honour of all those who sacrificed their lives in war. On Remembrance Sunday, some of our residents also chose to show their respect by attending the Remembrance Parade organised by the Civic in Shildon. It was a wonderful turn out, and we felt honoured to be apart of such an important event.

All aboard!

Lauren and Theresa from Holly Lodge took residents Jack and Nancy to visit our local Railway museum – everyone really enjoyed the trip out and looking and the different exhibits.

Pamper day!

Our residents all look forward to pamper day on a Wednesday when our hairdresser comes in, they all love showing off their lovely new hair styles and freshly painted nails done by our Lifestyle Co-ordinator. Don’t they look wonderful!

Birthdays & Special Mentions

We would like to say a big Happy birthday to Jenny and Arthur who both celebrated their birthdays this month – we hope you both had a fantastic day and enjoyed your cakes.

Also, congratulations to Marisol Munday from everyone at Holly Lodge on reaching your 1 year service award – and to Leonna Kellett on reaching 6 months service award. Thanks for all you do and we all hope you enjoyed your flowers!
