Within their final report, which awarded Kingston Court “GOOD” across all five areas, the CQC inspectors praised the improvement in management since the homes’ previous inspection in December 2021.
The report stated “Since the last inspection the regional manager had covered the role of registered manager for most of the year and this had brought stability and consistent oversight of the service. […] Staff felt well-supported by their managers and there were effective working relationships with other professionals involved in people’s care.” The report also repeatedly praises the wider staff team, stating: “Staff promoted a positive culture within the service. They worked hard to provide person-centred care, which achieved good outcomes for people.” You can read the full report from CQC, here.
These extremely positive comments come at a very exciting time for Kingston Court, as acting Home Manager Kim Lawson has decided to step away from her role as Regional Manager at Mariposa Care to commit full-time to being Home Manager at Kingston Court.
Mariposa Care are very proud of what Kim has achieved so far at Kingston and feel very confident the home will continue to excel under her leadership. Louise Kerry, Chief Operating Officer for Mariposa Care, said:
“We are incredibly proud to have received such a positive inspection and to see Kingston Court restore its “GOOD” rating from CQC. We were delighted to see that Kim Lawson’s appointment as Home Manager was mentioned as part of the reason for the improvements and we are all excited to see how the home progresses further now she has decided to take on the role full-time.”
We would like to congratulate Kim and our wonderful team at Kingston Court on their achievement and look forward to further enhancing the service we provide in 2023.
