After a highly successful open day at Derwent Care Home in Low Westwood, Newcastle on Friday 24th May, we would like to share our heartfelt gratitude to all visitors, residents, family, and friends for joining our celebration to mark the completion of our renovation project.
Throughout the day, we were delighted to welcome many members of our local community to explore the state-of-the-art elderly and dementia care amenities and experience for themselves the warm, welcoming atmosphere that Derwent Care Home is known for.
Visitors enjoyed a tour of the new facilities including the elderly and dementia care designed Apple Tree Cafe, The Orangery, and The Village Shop – and saw for themselves how each has been designed to enhance the quality of life for residents.
Along with the new facilities, another highlight of the day was undoubtedly the performances by Sam Naylor and Consett Memory Makers, our local Dementia-Friendly Choir – whose fantastic performances created an uplifting atmosphere and brought smiles to the faces of everyone present.
Overall, the event was a resounding success, not just in showcasing the new facilities, but in demonstrating Derwent Care Home’s commitment to creating a nurturing and vibrant living environment for its residents.
Thank you again to everyone who joined us, and to our fantastic team at Derwent care home for creating such a wonderful day.
