Coffee, Cake and Community: Joining the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning for Macmillan💚☕

In September, Mariposa and Papillon Care homes came together to take part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning – an annual fundraising event from Macmillan Cancer Support aimed at bringing people together over coffee, cake, and community spirit.

Across our homes, we saw a delicious selection of homemade bakes, cake and warm drinks bringing together residents, families, staff teams and our local community members – encouraging conversation and building connections, all whilst raising money for this fantastic cause.

Macmillan Cancer Support is a UK charity that provides support to people living with cancer, as well as their families. Their work helps improve quality of life for those affected by cancer across the country.

Here’s a closer look at some of the amazing coffee mornings our teams hosted across Mariposa and Papillon Care:

Sovereign Lodge

Sovereign Lodge hosted a welcoming coffee afternoon in their Potting Shed Café, where residents and visitors gathered to enjoy cakes, coffee, and good company — all while supporting Macmillan Cancer Support.

The Old Prebendal House

At The Old Prebendal House, the Tithe Barn dining room was transformed into a cosy café for the morning, with residents, families, and staff coming together to enjoy delicious homemade treats and raise funds for a great cause

Grove Lodge and Courtyard

Residents, relatives, and team members at The Grove Lodge and Courtyard enjoyed a lively coffee morning filled with cake, laughter, and community spirit — all in support of Macmillan’s important work.

St Luke's

At St Luke’s Care Home, our fantastic chefs’ Emily and Jess created a stunning selection of homemade cakes that proved a real hit. The event brought together residents, families, and staff to enjoy a cosy and relaxed morning in the lounge for this brilliant cause.

Derwent

Derwent Care Home welcomed families and friends into The Orangery for their coffee morning, where everyone enjoyed freshly baked cakes and friendly conversation in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.
