A New Chapter for Kingston Court Care Home

26/03/2024

Mariposa Care is delighted to announce the start of a significant upgrade project at Kingston Court care home in Carlisle; elevating standards of care in the area by creating outstanding, modern living spaces designed for residents.

Included in the works is the addition of four new bedrooms with wet-rooms, which will enhance the provision of CQC rated ‘Good’ full-time nursing and nursing dementia care in the local Carlisle area; a service which Kingston Court has been delivering for many years from its unique location on the grounds of Cumberland Infirmary. With the incorporation of ensuite wet-room facilities across a total of 28 bedrooms, residents will enjoy increased independence and privacy, alongside access to the dedicated care team available 24-hours a day.

Additionally, each bedroom will be decorated with stylish Well-being by Design from Mariposa schemes and modern furniture to promote a homely atmosphere and instil a sense of pride in every resident’s living space.

To minimise disruption to residents living in the home, Mariposa have employed Carey Contracts, a highly experienced team of contractors who specialise in undisruptive care home refurbishment, who will be undertaking this exciting construction project in four stages with completion in May 2024.

Kim Lawson, Home Manager at Kingston Court, said:

“It’s so exciting to see the plans for our home, and to see some of these changes already coming to life. These renovations are not only about modernising our facilities but also about cultivating a nurturing environment that supports the physical, emotional and mental health of our residents. These changes are going to bring a new lease of life to the home, and we can’t wait to enjoy the new spaces.”

In addition to the structural changes, Mariposa are also integrating state-of-the-art elderly and dementia facilities within the home, aimed at enhancing the lives of elderly residents and those living with dementia.
