Tipples and Tapas: The Old Prebendal House Hosts Successful Fundraising Event

Themed ‘Tapas and Tipples’, the charity event was held in the home’s beautifully landscaped gardens, which provided the perfect backdrop on a sunny summer afternoon. Guests enjoyed homemade Spanish-inspired dishes and refreshing drinks, prepared onsite by the care home’s exceptional catering and hospitality team, led by Head Chef, V.

The annual event, organised by the Wychwood Alzheimer’s Group, raises funds for Alzheimer’s Research UK – the leading dementia research charity in the UK, dedicated to supporting those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia while searching for a cure.

A Google review from one of the event organisers praised the Old Prebendal House team for the success of the day. The review stated:

“The Old Prebendal Care Home sponsored a Tipples and Tapas lunch last Saturday. It was in aid of our local Alzheimer’s Research Group, who are raising money to find a cure. Val the Manager, plus care staff and hospitality staff, laid out tables in the garden and served up a wonderfully flavoured and presented Spanish meal. […] On behalf of our committee, I would like to thank all the fantastic staff who made the afternoon so pleasurable. We also had a raffle, which added to the fun. Thank you to all participants who came and supported us.”

Having recently undergone an extensive refurbishment project, The Old Prebendal House care home combines first-class care facilities with homely décor and outstanding natural outdoor spaces, creating a welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike to enjoy.

Director of Care, Val Baggott, helped coordinate the event on the day. She said:

“We were delighted to host another fundraising event for Alzheimer’s Research UK. Local residents and friends joined us in our gardens for ‘Tapas and Tipples’ whilst enjoying the sunshine and listening to some Spanish guitar music. The weather was glorious, the food was incredible, and we couldn’t have wished for better company. It was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, thanks to David Ensor and his volunteers from WAGs.”
