From 16th to 22nd June, all care homes across the Mariposa Care Group proudly took part in #CareHomeOpenWeek 2025 — a national celebration designed to open the doors of care homes and connect with the communities around us.
This annual celebration is a great opportunity to encourages visitors to challenge outdated perceptions of care, showcase the incredible work our teams do every day, and most importantly, celebrate the people who live and work across our homes.
And this year, our Mariposa Care celebrations were bigger and brighter than ever. Across the group, our homes hosted a variety of events filled, each filled with music, food, laughter and social connection — and we were absolutely thrilled to welcome so many new faces through our doors. Our events included:
Garden Party at Riverwell Beck
Our gardens were transformed into a space of celebration and community for a sunny celebrations as our residents, families, friends, and neighbours enjoyed a wonderful afternoon with entertainment, refreshments, and garden games.
Sovereign Lodge Music Festival
We turned up the tempo with its very own Sovereign Lodge Music Festival , featuring live performances, fancy dress and a family-style BBQ that had everyone coming back for seconds. The day was filled with music, dancing, and laughter — creating a fantastic atmosphere for our residents, families, and staff to enjoy together.
Community Open Day at The Old Prebendal House
In Oxfordshire, The Old Prebendal House welcomed guests to an Open Day that combined live music, homemade food, and even a birds of prey talk, which proved to be a fascinating highlight for many. The atmosphere was joyful and inviting, and it was a pleasure to showcase the vibrant lifestyle residents enjoy all year round.
Kingston Court’s Summer Fete
At Kingston Court, a traditional Summer Fête brought the whole community together, complete with stalls, games, refreshments, and even a visit from a very special guest – the Mayor of Carlisle! It was an honour to welcome the Mayor and the event was a real celebration of local connections and community spirit.
