Helping our Heroes: Mariposa Care Homes Achieve Veteran Friendly Status

07/05/2025

We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone in our journey at Mariposa Care, as several of our homes have now been awarded the prestigious Veteran Friendly Framework accreditation- with our remaining homes working towards joining th achievement.

We would like to say a huge well done to our fantastic care teams at The Old Prebendal House, Briardene, Holly Lodge and Riverwell Beck for their hard work. The homes’ recognition as a Veteran Friendly reinforce our dedication to providing exceptional care for our residents and underscores our commitment to supporting veterans and their families.

All remaining Mariposa Care Group homes are also working towards the Veteran Friendly Framework – and hope to achieve the fantastic award later throughout the year.

What Is the Veteran Friendly Framework?

The Veteran Friendly Framework is a set of guidelines and best practices that ensures care homes are well-equipped to meet the unique needs of veterans. This framework is designed to create a supportive and understanding environment, recognizing the sacrifices made by those who have served in the armed forces. Homes that earn this accreditation demonstrate a commitment to honoring veterans by offering tailored services and support networks that address their specific needs.

Enhancing Care at Mariposa Care

By becoming a veteran-friendly home, Mariposa Care enhances its care offerings in several meaningful ways:

This achievement follows Mariposa Care’s signing of the Armed Forces Covenant, further cementing our commitment to supporting ex-members of the armed forces. The covenant is a pledge that acknowledges and respects those who serve or have served, as well as their families, guaranteeing that they receive the very best care and support that we can offer.

80th Anniversary of VE Day

This accreditation comes at a poignant time as we approach the 80th anniversary of VE Day. Victory in Europe Day is a momentous occasion that marks the end of World War II in Europe, and it serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by veterans in pursuit of peace. As we commemorate this historic day, Mariposa Care is proud to honour our veterans by providing a nurturing and understanding environment where they can thrive.

A Commitment to Excellence

At Mariposa Care, we are committed to delivering the highest standard of care, particularly for those who have served our country. This accreditation with the Veteran Friendly Framework is a testament to our ongoing efforts to create inclusive and supportive communities for all our residents.

We look forward to continuing our journey in providing exceptional, veteran-friendly care and seeing the remaining Mariposa Care homes achieve this award. We are excited about the positive impact this will have on our community and thank you all for being a part of Mariposa Care’s commitment to excellence and support for our veterans.
