Summertime feels so close, the weather has been lovely lately and our residents have been enjoying doing some gardening again in preparation for Summer. They are also overjoyed that the hairdresser is back at Derwent! Two family members are now allowed to visit which I am sure has put a big smile on your faces just as it has ours.
We have recently revamped our middle floor lounge with new wallpaper and some newaccessories have been added- I know you will all love the new changes to Derwent!
We are revamping our bedrooms at Derwent and slowly but surely all bedrooms will be getting done. We are adding new wallpaper and bedspreads, so bedrooms feel more unique and individual – we hope you all like them.
We are continuing to have lots of interactions with resident’s families with our online presence and our continuous Facetime and Zoom chats. We would like to say a big thank you to all our resident’s families for your understanding throughout all this and your unwavering support!
We had a fabulous Easter here at Derwent, every resident received a little treat from the Easter bunny and we finished the day off with a delicious afternoon tea!
We have had a month jam-packed with activities throughout April, celebrating Easter and St George’s day; as well as enjoying afternoon tea, gardening and much more..
Here’s a sneak peek of what we have coming up in May:
Gardening
Baking
Arts & Crafts
1:1 Activities
We celebrated a lot of birthdays in April. Maurice turned 89 on the 4th – he especially loved his cake! Annie (Nancy) turned 91 on the 5th and had a lovely visit from her daughter. Iris celebrated her 89th birthday on the 9th April with a visit from her son. Ivy turned 95 on the 17th April, her family visited her to wish her happy birthday. Joyce turned 94 on April 18th and received a lovely card from her son. And last but certainly not least, Anne celebrated her 76th birthday on April 19th and had a wonderful visit from her daughter and grand-daughter.
Best wishes to all!
