March 2021: Feeling Bright at Derwent

Derwent Newsletter: March Edition

We’re sure you’ll agree that 2021 is looking better by the day. With the government’s recent announcement of staggering the lifting of the lockdown I am sure we can all agree it has been a long time coming and finally feels like there is light at the end of the tunnel. This time next year this will all hopefully be just a distant memory and our lives can once again be filled with visiting, cuddling and kissing our loved ones.

We are revamping our bedrooms at Derwent, slowly but surely all bedrooms will be getting a refresh with new wallpaper and new bedspreads, so bedrooms feel more unique and individual, we hope you all like them.

We are continuing to have lots of interactions with resident’s families with our online presence and our continuous Facetime and Zoom chats. We would like to say a big thank you to all our resident’s families for your understanding throughout all this and your unwavering support.

What a "flipping" great Pancake Day!

We had such fun here at Derwent for Pancake Day! Our residents loved getting involved and having a go at tossing their pancakes in the air – and of course eating them with some delicious toppings!

Activities for March

We’ve been busy with lots of activities throughout February and especially enjoyed celebrating Pancake Day, Valentines Day and Chinese new year. Here’s a sneak peek at what we have coming up in march:

One-to-one activities

Residents birthday, News and Special Mentions

Thank you to Sonia our Lifestyle Support and Yvonne our Chief for cooking up a storm in the kitchen with all kinds of delicious pies for National Pie Day. We had both savoury and sweet and they were a huge hit with all the residents.

Residents birthdays

We would like to wish all our residents who are celebrating birthdays in March all the best – we’re so grateful that we get to share your special day with you!
