Welcome to Februarys newsletter! We’re still in lockdown which sadly means we can’t allow internal visits until further notice; however, we are now able to offer window visits and all our residents are still welcome to use video calls to stay in touch with family until we can open our doors again. These can be made via Whatsapp, Skype, Facetime and Zoom – please just give us a call on 0191 271 4029 to arrange.
We know it may feel like Groundhog Day but we’d like to thank all of our residents, their families and friends for their continued understanding and support during the pandemic. We wish you could come and visit as much as you do.
Talking of films, being stuck in lockdown didn’t stop our “Night at the Oscars” which went down a storm last month! Everyone who took part received their very own statuette and certificate. Prizes included Best Singer- won by Marjorie and Margy, Best Make Up – which went to Vera A and even some fun awards such as “Best Use of Alexa” which went to Jennie!
We really wish you could come and visit as much as you do- but until then, stay safe and we’ll see you as soon as we can!
As usual, we have our day-to-day activities to keep residents active in both body and mind- but we’ll also be doing some special activities throughout the month to help this lockdown go quicker!
On the 7th it is “Send a card to a friend day” so we will be making cards for you to send to your friends. Get your address books out.
Chinese New Year is on the 12th so our activities will involve looking at their culture and celebrating all things Chinese!
Valentines day is as always 14th and then on 16th we have Pancake Day which we will be celebrating with pancakes. Also, the 16th coincides with Mardi Gras so get your best boas and beads out and get ready to PARTY!!!
It’s hard to get outside during the winter months, so we’ve got a selection of activities planned that our residents to stay warm and cosy inside, such as:
Quizzes
Bingo
Flower arranging
Pamper sessions
Sing along
Target Golf
Aqua painting
Memory jigsaws
Board games
And many more
Many happy returns to the following residents and staff:
