Before coming to live with us, we carry out a thorough pre-assessment visit for anyone who wishes to become a resident. This way, we’re able to gather the relevant information to ensure that we can deliver the best possible levels of tailored care, suited to each individual.

We also warmly welcome loved ones and visitors and are happy to organise food and drink in the lounge or garden area for you to enjoy during your visit. All we need is someone to let us know in advance, and we’ll sort the rest.

Life in Shipton-under-Wychwood

The Old Prebendal Estate sits within Shipton-under-Wychwood, a small Oxfordshire village with a parish population of 1,244 according to the census of 2011. This quiet and picturesque spot in the Cotswolds is situated roughly between Oxford and Cheltenham and is home to a bowls club, a golf club, a church, a post office and three historic public houses.

Getting to the Old Prebendal House

The Old Prebendal Estate is well situated for visitors, and Shipton-under-Wychwood boasts quick and easy access to London via the A40/M40, the South West via the A40/M5, as well as Birmingham and the West Midlands.

The nearest railway station is approximately 5 miles away in Charlbury, with regular trains to London Paddington (a journey of around an hour and twenty minutes).

Val Baggott

We are very proud to introduce Val Baggot as the Director of Care at the Old Prebendal Estate. Val is a highly experienced leader in the care sector – with over 20 years’ experience as a manager or general manager of care homes - and continues to be a Registered General Nurse. Val’s experience and proven track record impressed us, alongside her approach, values and understanding and experience of a special place to live and work such as Old Prebendal. We have every confidence that Val will lead and support the team to continue to deliver a high-level service and care for the wonderful people living at Old Prebendal House and Estate.
