To the west of Newcastle upon Tyne and with access to excellent transport links, Briardene is located in the village of Westerhope, and specialises in nursing, dementia and respite care.
Rooms are modern and bright, with all facilities and amenities to ensure homely comforts, and we encourage residents to personalise their own space so they can feel at home. There are 60 bedrooms throughout the spacious home, which also benefits from large and airy communal spaces and beautiful gardens.

We aim to make life at Briardene as enriching as possible. Our team of qualified nursing staff and carers are trained to the highest standards where we aim to provide a warm and inviting environment in which to relax and enjoy a healthy and enriching lifestyle. We are located to the west of Newcastle upon Tyne, with 60 large and airy, stylishly decorated and refurbished bedrooms which we encourage residents to personalise to make their own. We also have a varied range of excellent communal spaces having benefit from a comprehensive refurbishment.
We recognise that mealtimes are a focal part of anyones day. Nutritional well-being is vital to maintaining a healthy mind and body. Our regularly reviewed menus with resident input, provide a well-balanced nutritious choice of food which also caters for people who require special diets. There is also an alternative menu available just in case people would like a change. Drinks, snacks and nibbles including fruit are available through the day and the night. We welcome residents who like to bake, cook or help themselves whenever they would like. We can also cater for parties and celebrations for residents, and their families and friends.
