Holly Lodge is situated on the outskirts of Shildon, in a peaceful residential area it is a modern 41 bed facility, purpose-built care home offering residential and residential dementia care.
Holly lodge is a friendly welcoming home, with comfortable lounge areas enclosed gardens and cosy en- suite bedrooms, which provide a warm place for our residents to rest and relax.
Our absolute priority is to ensure that every resident receives the very highest standards of care. To do this we ensure that our care is focused on each individual, because each person needs are different, in terms of medical physical emotional and even social aspects.
We recognise that the transition into a care setting can be an emotional time for both residents and their family. Our relationship with every resident, their family and friends are integral to ensuring a seamless transition enabling residents to continue important routines, hobbies and interests with discreet and sensitive support that retains dignity and wellbeing.
Holly Lodge
By focusing on our residents likes and dislikes, we can plan enjoyable and stimulating activities. For example; residents who used to enjoy dancing are taken to entertaining dance shows, or a former chef enjoys a trip to a restaurant. We ensure that each activity is designed to actively engage our residents – to ensure an active involvement in a favourite pastime.
Additionally, at Holly Lodge, we work with our residents to create a life story, by recording key aspects of the past. This information greatly benefits people living with dementia by enabling our caring staff to understand our residents personality, feelings, loved ones, experiences and future aspirations.
Holly Lodge
Holly Lodge has light and airy dinning rooms with separate kitchens, where our catering team lead by Tracey and Joanne prepare all meals. Our residents are served three, delicious and nutritious meals a day, alongside mid-morning and afternoon tea. The latter often includes Tracey’s famous, homemade cheese scones! We understand the nutritional needs of the elderly and create meals that offer resident-centric calorific and nutritional content. We consider the dining experience to be a fundamental part of every resident’s care plan – from both a nutritional, experiential and social perspective.
