Holly Lodge is situated on the outskirts of Shildon, in a peaceful residential area it is a modern 41 bed facility, purpose-built care home offering residential and residential dementia care.
Holly Lodge is a friendly and welcoming care home; with comfortable lounge areas, enclosed gardens and cosy en- suite bedrooms, which provide a homely space for residents to rest and relax.
Rated ‘Outstanding’ for care by the Care Quality Commission, Holly lodge is committed to treating all residents as individuals, because each person needs are different, in terms of medical, physical, emotional and even social aspects. By focusing on our residents likes and dislikes, we can plan enjoyable and stimulating activities. For example; residents who used to enjoy dancing are taken to entertaining dance shows, or a former chef enjoys a trip to a restaurant. We ensure that each activity is designed to actively engage our residents – to ensure an active involvement in a favourite pastime.
Additionally, at Holly Lodge, we work with our residents to create a life story, by recording key aspects of the past. This information greatly benefits people living with dementia by enabling our caring staff to understand our residents personality, feelings, loved ones, experiences and future aspirations.
