Residential Care at The Old Prebendal House

Later life can present an ideal opportunity to enjoy greater comfort, routine and peace of mind through residential care, which helps to remove the pressures of managing daily life alone while still supporting independence. The Old Prebendal House provides a true home-from-home in the heart of the Cotswolds thanks to its Grade II listed building and traditional English charm.

It offers a warmth and character that is often not found in modern minimalist care homes but still comes with modern comforts including ensuite wet rooms, Wi-Fi and comfortable living spaces. It is important to understand that residential care can help families to feel more confident when exploring future care options.

What is Residential Care?

Residential care provides day-to-day support in a comfortable and welcoming setting, providing help with meals, personal care, mobility and daily routines. Staff are on hand throughout the day and night to provide reassurance and assistance when needed.

Opting for residential care allows independence and personal choice to be maintained wherever possible. It offers companionship, activities and shared experiences within a community environment whilst removing many of the responsibilities of running a home.

This allows residents to focus more on their own comfort, hobbies, social interaction and enjoyment of everyday life by providing tailored support based around individual preferences and routines.

Residential care at The Old Prebendal House

The Old Prebendal House is warm, welcoming and full of character. It is a sympathetically refurbished Grade II listed building, and the traditional surroundings have proved to be a great way to create a homely and reassuring atmosphere. There are also many modern amenities such as en-suite bedrooms with wet rooms, a beauty salon, Wi-Fi, a silent nurse call system and electronic care planning.

Residents have the opportunity to enjoy both communal activities and quieter personal time, depending on their own preference. The home understands the importance of friendships and close relationships between residents, staff and families and it sits within the wider Old Prebendal Estate. This creates a unique environment where couples with different care needs can remain close together.

The home also helps with future planning as residents are able to access different levels of support as their individual needs evolve. All of our care standards are guided by the CQC Single Assessment Framework, and we use things like Person Centred Software, Camascope and Pronett to support communication, consistency and accurate care planning. By putting efficient systems in place, staff can develop their training and careers whilst being able to focus more time on residents.
