Nursing Care at The Old Prebendal House
Nursing care combines professional clinical support with comfort, dignity and reassurance – allowing residents to continue enjoying familiar routines and quality of life whilst receiving additional support.
The Old Prebendal House has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and is found in the heart of the Cotswolds offering traditional English charm through its Grade II listed building. The home combines professional nursing care with a close-knit and supportive atmosphere. With a full understanding of what nursing care offers, families are able to feel more assured when considering future care options.

What is Nursing Care?
Every person’s healthcare needs are different; however, some individuals benefit from more regular support and monitoring. Nursing care provides 24-hour support from trained professionals with medication, mobility, personal care and ongoing health needs.
Qualified nursing staff are therefore available throughout the day and night to focus on maintaining comfort, dignity and independence wherever possible. We know that routines and personal preferences are vital and they will remain important parts of daily life at The Old Prebendal House.
This helps to provide reassurance for both residents and families, knowing support is always available and care is tailored to the individual, rather than following the same approach for every resident.
Nursing care at The Old Prebendal House
The Old Prebendal House offers professional nursing support within a relaxed and homely setting. The Grade II listed building creates a warm and traditional atmosphere rather than a clinical environment, but residents can still benefit from modern home comforts including ensuite bedrooms with wet rooms, Wi-Fi, a silent nurse call system, electronic care planning and their own beauty salon.
As this home is smaller and has a more personal atmosphere, it helps staff to build close relationships with residents and families. The residents are treated as individuals and are known personally by the care team. The home also offers both communal and individual activities depending on the preferences and well-being of the residents.
The Old Prebendal House sits within the wider Old Prebendal Estate, which also includes Prebendal Court, a collection of independent retirement properties.
This allows individuals and couples to access different levels of support as their needs change over time, while still remaining close to familiar surroundings and loved ones. It is this kind of flexibility that helps residents and families feel more confident about future planning.
With the help of tools such as Person Centred Software, Camascope and Pronett, we ensure that all of our care standards are guided by the CQC Single Assessment Framework. These systems help to support communication, monitoring, and consistency of care. They offer an efficiency that allows staff to spend more meaningful time supporting residents whilst also undergoing ongoing training and certifications. The Old Prebendal House is committed to supporting staff development and maintaining high standards of nursing care at all times.

Who is Nursing Care for?
Nursing care is suitable for individuals who require more regular healthcare support or monitoring. Residents can benefit from support with mobility, medication or ongoing health needs and nursing care can also be used to support those recovering from illnesses or managing longer-term conditions.
Residents in a nursing care home can still enjoy companionship, activities and daily routines, alongside professional support that provides peace of mind for families, who know trained professionals are available day and night.
All support is tailored around individual needs and preferences, and the flexibility within the wider Old Prebendal Estate can also support future planning for couples and individuals.
