It offers somewhere that residents can feel comfortable, supported, and part of everyday life within their home, striking the perfect balance between professional care and relaxed living. Learning more about residential care can provide a sense of clarity and confidence for families as they look at what might be the right fit.

What is Residential Care?
We understand that everyone’s circumstances are different, which is why residential care is designed to provide a supportive and comfortable living environment for a wide range of people. It offers 24-hour support and assistance with everyday living without the need to manage any household responsibilities.
Unlike other forms of care, it does not offer specialist medical care and is not dementia specific, instead focusing on general support and lifestyle. This means there is a structured but flexible daily routine, plenty of opportunities for social interaction and a reduced sense of isolation so that residents can focus on enjoying their daily life without the pressures of living alone.
Residential Care at Sovereign Lodge

It is a family-oriented environment where relationships between residents, staff and families can build a sense of familiarity and belonging.
For those looking for a relaxed social space, there is the Potting Shed Cafe that is the ideal venue to meet, chat and enjoy time together.
Residents can also enjoy shared mealtimes, activities and informal social moments with the flexibility to choose how they want to spend their time.
At Sovereign Lodge, we are continuing to grow and develop through investment in our facilities and a commitment to improving resident experiences. The combination of the CQC framework and state-of-the-art technology means we can support consistency and free up staff time.

Meet the Manager
Teresa Stephenson

Our Registered Home Manager, Teresa Stephenson, started her career as a kitchen assistant back in 2000. She was then asked by her manager to become a care assistant because of her kind nature. She quickly climbed the ladder becoming a senior care assistant a post she was in for 11 years. Realising she couldn’t advance in her career where she was, she got a position at Sovereign Lodge where she became Deputy Manager and eventually achieving the Manager’s position. Teresa operates an open door policy, so feel free to approach her and air any concerns or queries you may have.
