What is Dementia Care?
Dementia can be a crippling illness, both for those who have the diagnosis and the people who care for them. It is therefore important to have specialised dementia care to help deal with the most common issues such as memory loss, confusion and difficulty with everyday tasks that comes along with the disease.
This can ensure that anyone living with dementia is able to live as independently and meaningfully as possible whilst ensuring that they always have the highest standards of care available. This not only encourages improved physical and mental health but also helps to provide support and peace of mind for families and caregivers.
At Derwent, we have a dedicated team of dementia care experts on-hand to help you or your loved one live comfortably and maintain their independence. If you would like to learn more about our approach to dementia care here at Derwent, contact our team today on 01207 563886 or by completing our enquiry form.

Who is Dementia Care for?
Dementia can be classified as a range of different conditions including Alzheimer’s, vascular dementia or Lewy body dementia. Whilst it is most common in those aged over 65, it can occur in younger people as well. Our Derwent dementia care is aimed at those in the early days of dementia, right up to its most advanced stages.
Dementia can create issues with memory loss as well as confusion, which can mean it is difficult for sufferers to live alone and unsupported. Dementia care therefore ensures that there are appropriate levels of support available, so that anyone living with dementia is able to enjoy the best quality of life possible.
It can be extremely difficult to care for someone with dementia if you do not have the specialised knowledge that our team can provide. We are therefore able to offer families and friends the knowledge that their loved one is fully cared for. We offer an integrated approach to care and will work alongside families to ensure that our residents receive everything they need.
