“Here comes the sun..”
Happy summer – finally the warmer weather is finally here and we couldn’t be happier here at Kingston Court. It’s been a very exciting month, our residents have enjoyed a variety of tasty treat days, including; strawberry’s & cream along with sherry for Wimbledon, a chocolate fountain day for #NationalChocolateDay and an icecream day where residents enjoyed a 99 in the garden to make the most of the nice sunny weather.
Our Stitch & Knit club continues to be a resident favourite, as they have been continuing their busy work along with our lovely volunteer Wendy. We’ve been making a range of artworks to hang next to resident’s doors to resonate with our new floor names. We have also enjoyed lots of creative activities this month – from making rain catchers to quirky book decoupage that residents have enjoyed getting stuck into.
Birthdays & special mentions
Yvonne,Glady’s,Irene,Helen,Archie,Lilly,Alan & Joan have all enjoyed their birthday’s over the past month. We have also celebrated a lovely couple’s 70th anniversary this month. Activities & the family organised a party to celebrate the big occasion with decorations, cheese & wine, a brilliant singer & a big cake. The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all who came.
Life Stories
We are starting to introduce life stories into the home which is a booklet we can keep past & future memories of residents & also give families & staff a chance to look back on all the exciting things their loved ones did through their lives.
